I got meme'd

Insert 5-words meme, as given by Toob! I was given 5 words to define and or ramble about, for one reason or another. Comment here, and I might do the same. Yay! The words are apparently supposed to be something that reminds me of you, just FYI.

My words were as follows!

America: An odd word to give to a Canadian, I suppose. ^^ America, the country that is south of mine. I could drive for 8-10 hours, and wind up somewhere in Montana. So, its a ways down there. I've got a lot o' friends in various States down there, and I've visited quite a lot of them. It isn't a bad country, though it is most definitely a different one. Probably the biggest thing that always seems to leap out at everyone is the fact that they don't have a Socialized healthcare system like we do up in Canada. That has to suck. Poor yanks! Convince your Government to do something about that. Socialist systems can be a good thing. :3

Largeness: Ahh, such a fun word. To be large is so very enjoyable, at least in my mind. Think about it, you get to be all big and powerful, though perhaps not in the ways some think. I think to be big does not suddenly equal being some ruthless juggernaut that goes on city destroying rampages. The powerful terms comes from the reality of the situation, namely that you *could* bench press a skyscraper if you so chose. More of a literal statement. :3 But its up to the end user what they wind up doing with it all. I prefer the concept of gentile giants. Being large is fun, why ruin it all by blowing up a city for kicks? You're just gonna get yourself nuked. ^^

Death in a fire: That is not a word. That is 4 words. And how does dieing in a fire remind you of me? ^^() Kind of a creepy thing, to be honest. Fire is a wonderful tool, but it has this habit of BURNING people, and they usually die from that. I'm told its quite painful, and usually a horrible way to go. The worst part is you very rarely die from the burning, you actually die from oxygen loss. Seeing as the fire burns it all, you lie there in pain and die from not being able to breathe. Not fun at all methinks. Fortunately most dragons are fire proof. So at least we don't have to worry about that. Besides, I tend to belch other things at people more often. All of which are much better received than fire breath!

Dragons: Woo, I could probably ramble for a while on this subject. I love Dragons. :3 I like being one, I like being around other Dragons, I like the idea, I like the myths, histories, you name it. Dragons seem to have been around in writing, history, myth, legend, and whatnot for thousands of years, if not longer. I've always wondered just how "mythical" something like that might be. ^^ Plus they're all big and pretty, nice to look at, fun to be around, you name it. Pretty much everything about a Dragon makes me happy. Though a lot of various media sources could portray them in a more positive light. Not all Dragons like to raze villages and kidnap maidens. Some of us like to outgrow the countryside and show off gigantic dangly parts.

Fantasy: Fantasy is your friend. Both the literal term, and the genre of writing. Everyone needs a healthy fantasy life, as reality can be rather plain and boring. Having a good fantasy, or more than one, to escape to is critical to a healthy mindset. At least it sure is in my opinion. ^^ One more thing to help you escape the dreary work/eat/sleep rotation that we're locked into. The writing genre of Fantasy is also good. Not only do you get to enjoy reading about things like magic and nifty creatures, but different societal models that none of us have ever lived through. Plus there are Dragons there, quite frequently. And as we all know, that makes it awesome. :D

Published Author

Well, my big project of the season is finally completed. I went and published a book! :D Its a collection of short stories, heavy on the fetish content of course, and full of poofy goodness.

It contains 3 of my favorite short stories that I've already released here, and 3 new ones that nobody has seen yet. ^^ I'm rather pleased with how it all came out too. With luck there are no formatting errors in the whole thing. I did some review of my own, and did not notice any fortunately. But one or two may pop up during the conversion process.

Anyhoo! The title of the book in question is Unending Expansions. It contains 6 short stories, and is 203 pages long. ^^ The whole lot is contained in a Trade Paperback, so that wound up being quite a lot of words after all. You can purchase it here, of Lulu. (Which seems to be a branch of Amazon.com)

http://www.lulu.com/content/paperba.....nsions/7323537

The price tag? $15 US. After printing costs and commission for Lulu, I'm only getting about a third of that. Still, its not a bad deal for a first time author doing self publishing. ^^ Perhaps if "the novel" is ever finished, I'll go through a proper company and make a little more scratch.

In the meantime, here's a whole buttload of furry porn in paperback form. Now, go buy my book. :D

And ENJOY! ^_________^

(And yes, I think this justifies an Accomplished tag. :3)

Meme!

Stolen from Ember. :3

The problem with Live Journal is that we all think we are so close, but really, we know nothing about each other. Hence, I want you to ask me something you think you should know about me. Something that should be obvious, but you have no idea about. Then post this in your LJ and find out what people don’t know about you.

Hit me lads! :3

Spore!

Well I finally got Spore working properly on my new system here, so with luck I can actually do a little more with it this time around. One of the first things I did right off the bat was get two mods going for the thing. ^^

The first disables most of the limits on sizes during creature creation, so you can make things really big, really wide, really bulky, etc. Or just have gigantic wings and stuff. ^^ The next mod makes you into a full on epic creature during the creature stage. So you're bloody huge, stomp things flat wherever you go, and generally dominate the creature stage.

Plus its really amusing when you hatch from your egg at the nest, grow into an adult, then grow and grow and grow and grow and grow and grow... And so on. ^^

For those of you whom might want your own Spore mods, you can get 'em all here!

Duckies

Sometimes, I still do like living in this City. ^^

On my way home from work today, they were saying on the radio that a group of ducks and their ducklings were trying to cross the road. It was apparently one of the major roads going through town, though I didn't catch which one.

Anyways, apparently everyone slowed down and stopped in all lanes to let them cross. So the Radio was just letting everyone know that traffic was stopped on X road because duckies were crossing.

D'aww. ^___^

Blood Bowl!

Seems the Blood Bowl website finally went live, and they've got some wonderful trailers to look at. :3 Lizardman team, go! Who wouldn't want to play violent death and carnage filled football? Complete with Orky goodness!

Gotta make the games more Orky. Gork and Mork will like that. ^^

Working during the "Holidays".

Well this week has been very slow so far, as I expected it would be. I spent most of the day doing one tiny assed order at a time, just to string them out over the whole day. There was no chance of going home early, so I felt no need to get 'er all done quickly. :3

Tomorrow I'm taking a half day so I can run my roomie down to the Airport in the morning, as he's going off to visit the folks over the whole X-mas long weekend thing. So I'll likely drag myself into work sometime after lunch, and finish up the day there. I'm really not expecting to have much worth doing.

There's some debate on at present as to why we're even going to be open on the 24th, as all of our delivery/trucking companies will be closed, and so will the vast majority of our client base. Apparently our immediate managers are checking into changing the higher ups minds, as all previous years we've been closed on this day. If nothing else, we'll come in on the 24th, do nothing for a few minutes, then go home again with pay. ^^() Seems like a big waste of time though. I'll have to check tomorrow and see if they've finally decided to just keep the place closed.

I'd rather like a 5 day weekend. :3 Gotta load up on groceries after work tomorrow as well! I doubt very much of anything will be open over the long weekend, so 'twould be best if I could feed myself during this period.

With luck the lot of you are having decent times out there in our frozen winter wonderland. ^^

Fictional Meme

Stolen from Astor: (Cuz the meme said to! :3)

If you read this, if your eyes are passing over this right now, please post a comment with a completely made up and fictional memory of you and I.

It can be anything you want - good or bad - but completely fictional.

When you're finished, post this little paragraph in your LJ and see what your friends come up with.

Warhammer

The other day at work, one of my pals and some other co-workers got talking about Warhammer. Another co-worker came up to join the conversation, and sort of turned his nose up at the whole affair. Evidently games not on a console or computer are not worth playing. ^^()

Anyways! When talking more about Warhammer, he said the most stupid and amusing thing... Namely the following. Warhammer? That's just like risk crossed with Yu-Gi-Oh. Needless to say I was dumbfounded by that particular sentence, as it made absolutely no sense what-so-ever. So! After said buddy and I made fun of the statement all day, I told myself I just HAD to make a little image about it, or something of the sort. Well I finally remembered to do so, so here it is. :3

So remember! Warhammer, its like Risk crossed with Yu-Gi-Oh. ^__^

Yokozuna

Well yesterday was certainly an amusing day all around. ^^

Work was really quite quiet, and I took my time with most tasks all day, and still got done half an hour early. I stayed around after that point and helped everyone else get their shit done, and thus the majority of us were ready to go on time. I was pleased to learn one of my useless co-workers was dismissed today as well, and booted off the grounds. Man this kid was useless, you'd swear he was a perma-fried burnout or something. Every day he was late for work, and looked like he was stoned at all times. He did nearly no work during the day, and was always getting his orders and shipments wrong. Plus when the boss would page him over the intercom, sometimes multiple times, he'd show up half an hour later not having heard any of them. And apparently not having done anything productive during this time either. I wondered on more than one occasion if he was even in the building. :p

Anyways, that's one less idiot back there. After work the boss had some of us stay around, and get some basic training done on the fork-lifts. They were pretty much what I was expecting, but I've driven vehicles like that before. Plus I'd been sneaking on the forks when nobody was looking to putter around with the things, and learn how they drove. The steering is a might wonky on all of them, but I'm sure we'll get used to it. I'm told the outside fork-lifts are way easier, as they drive like cars.

After we were done that I dropped off my buddy who also works there, got cleaned up, and went right back out again to a friends B-day dinner. She had chosen the Yokozuna sushi house as the target for her hunger, so we all piled into a closed off booth and packed away the fish all night. They're a fairly expensive place as far as food costs go, but holy shit are they ever good. That was actually the first time I'd ever eaten there, and I'll be sure to go again. ^__^ I had a dinner bento combination last night, consisting of cold salads, tempura, fresh sushi, and fresh sashimi. All of it was rather tasty, and damn do those fellows know what they're doing when they're cutting and prepping their fish. ^^ Each slice was so tender, cut just perfectly, and so thick! Even the presentation was excellent, quite the credit to themselves there.

I'd definitely recommend the place to anyone who likes their Sushi. :3

I was intending on hopping on Warhammer Online when I finally got back home, but I was so tired I just wound up checking my e-mail and going to bed. There will be more time for orc-choppy goodness after work today, I suppose. ^__^

Working Dragon

Well, I'm in the middle of my second week at my new job, and thusfar things are going just fine. I think the boss enjoys having me there, and he's just as pleased with a buddy o' mine who got hired on the same time I did. Both the buddy and I have noticed that we're considerably ahead of the curve when it comes to some of our co-workers.

Some have obviously been working in the same entry level job for a long time, and will likely only leave when they quit and go somewhere else. Or in the case of one easily angered individual, get fired sometime. ^^() His problem seems to be that when anything goes wrong, it is everyone elses fault. I doubt this flies very well with the lads in the office, what with his loud outspoken opinions on how things SHOULD be working there, on matters such as pay, policy, workload, yadda.

Others just reek of incompetence, either from a total lack of experience, or a poor work ethic. I figure its a good sign when both my friend and I don't find the job challenging, and are already being tossed special projects and rush orders. Probably because we can actually get them done on time, and right the first time. Plus within our first two weeks we've already been sent to help higher level departments several times. Other friends of mine there are of the opinion that we'll both be moving up to higher departments before our first 3 months are even up.

In general however the job is quite agreeable. I can overlook some of the stupid moments because I generally try to ignore the yowling idiocies of the unwashed sheep that makes up the general population. :3 I suppose it isn't the meats fault for being so dumb, they're just meat after-all.

Still, doesn't stop you from wanting to set a few city blocks on fire from time to time. ^___^ Flames tend to make the gormless pissants stand up and take notice. That or run for the hills screaming bloody murder. And by that I mean drive like maniacs down the wrong side of the road in their gas guzzling SUV's while chatting on their cellphones and smoking like chimneys.

Yay! :D

And people wonder why I'm a bit of a misanthrope. ^^

Animethon, Done!

Well, that certainly was an interesting weekend. As I sit here this morning slowly waking up again, I realize I'm rather bored out of my mind. ^^() Despite working my ass off at times and being sleep deprived, I was really having a fun time helping out around the place.

Cons do indeed look different when you're behind a desk wearing a staff badge, rather than just another person running around between tables and getting in the way. I had fun working with all the artists, I enjoyed what I was doing at our station, I liked the company I was keeping with the other staff members, yadda. I'm definitely going to help out again next year if I get the chance.

While I was there the fellow I was running the artists alley ticket-booth with got talking with me about all sorts of things. One of the subjects was what he did for a living, and it turns out he worked at a local Electrical supply company I'd not heard of, but everyone else around here seems to know about. ^^() He told me what they did, then asked if I was looking for work. I told him I was indeed, so he gave me a business card and wrote down a bunch of names I should talk to.

I already gave them a call this morning, but the people in question are out right now. One is on vacation, the other won't be back until later this afternoon. So, I'll give them a call back then. Everyone figured I'd have a very good shot there, as I already have lots of experience in what they do, and all my technical experience is a good asset as well.

Hooray for getting a shoe in the door to the wide world of technical services. ^^ The fellow I'd been speaking with figured I'd either be able to stay on with these guys for a while and be a happy techy person, or use them as a stepping stone to get into several other companies that like to hide computer geeks with electrical experience.

So yeah, my weekend was good. ^^ Once I finish waking up, I might just start sketching a few things. Yay!

Animethon

Well, I wound up getting asked to help out as staff for this years Animethon in Edmonton, so that's what wound up taking up my Saturday this week. ^^ I'm helping to run the ticket-booth and whatnot for artists alley. Today went off rather well, and we managed to get everything packed up n' ready to go for the night pretty quick.

We all had supper at Denny's afterwards, and our host Nick was kind enough to pay for everyone. I'll be working again tomorrow for the whole day, from 9am to 4pm. After that I'm not too sure what is going on, but I'll likely just be counting up everything again and heading home. If I bump into anyone there again, be sure to say hello! I know I saw some locals and whatnot there during the day.

Also, I may have found a job or something while I was there. More on that later, once I get details sorted out. ^_^

For now, sleep. I've got an early start!

Games n' stuff

Well I've been quite entertained of late with Final Fantasy XI, though I've started to notice periods where I either can't really play, or would be best going and doing something else. A lot of that revolves around either waiting for groups to go do some party adventures, or selling things. Money making isn't exactly easy in the game, in that it tends to take a long time. I'm working on several skills to improve my income, but it will still take time. ^^() Gotta start fishing and cooking!

I was messing around with TF2 earlier today, but the servers I frequent were quite saturated with cheaters and hackers. The last game I played had at least 5-6 people cheating at once, with everything from aim-bots to wall-hacks to practical invulnerability. That tends to ruin the "fun" value rather quick, so I got the hell out of there to do something more interesting.

On a side note, I finally remembered to go snag my Brawl and Mario Kart codes, so all the folks I've been adding to my lists can add me back. ^^() Perhaps I'll finally start getting more use out of my sii! With luck any friends I play with will provide a more rewarding experience. :3 Thusfar all the random fights with strangers have either been pathetically easy, or full of button-mashing retards.

So, here they is!

Brawl: 4339-2443-0853
Kart: 2664-2807-1614

Other than that, I'm bored out o' my mind right now, so I think I'll sit around on the chats until I pass out. Yay!

FFIV get!

As I was out and about last night, I remembered that Final Fantasy IV hit the shelves just the other day. Hooray for re-mastered releases on the DS! The fellows working on these modern versions of the games really know what they're doing. Final Fantasy III was a gem, and I'm still playing it. :3

FFIV is bringing up all sorts of wonderful nostalgic feelings, as I still remember getting the game when it was brand new back in 1991 or thereabouts. Anyhoo, the new version is very enjoyable thusfar. They've got a very slick opening FMV sequence, and the in-game character models are just as good if not better than that of Final Fantasy VII back on the lowly Playstation. Plus they even did voice-overs for the characters! Yay!

'tis amazing how much data and good gameplay you can cram onto one of those little solid state cards DS games come on. Yay for compact tech!

If you're a fan of the series, go get this one. You won't be disappointed! 'tis Rumored that Matrix, the fellows re-making the old games, is going to be doing FFV and FFVI as well.

Live and times

Well my search for work was somewhat blunted this week, due to spending most of it flat on my ass with a retched cold. The last of it is only now starting to work its way out of my system. At least I made papa Nurgle proud, namely by spreading the cold to my roomie... >.>

I had some techs pay me a visit today from my local ISP, and they confirmed what I knew all along. Namely that the problem was outside the house, on their end. They partially think the old distribution boxes for this condo complex are to blame, as they're ruddy ancient and don't appear to have ever been upgraded. So, they patched up this one at least, and confirmed a strong steady signal all the way through. They'll keep an eye on it however, to make sure there wasn't something else screwing up down the pipe.

While they were here I mentioned that I was looking to hire on with them, and they confirmed that the company was still looking for people. They must not be looking very hard, as I've applied several times now and still not heard word back. Ah well, at least some cash is coming my way.

I called EI earlier and asked them what the hell was taking so long with my funds, and they admitted to basically forgetting all about me. So they got everything re-processed and confirmed, and I've got 2-3 payments coming in all at once on Monday. ^^() Apparently they should have been paying me since the start of the month... retards.

This will make my continued job hunt much more comfortable, as even a few hundred bucks a week is better than jack & shit.

After several failed attempts to locate a party on Final Fantasy 11 this evening, I gave up and went back to writing a little. Wound up finishing another little short story, which was part of an artistic trade o' sorts with a buddy o' mine. I'm sure he'll enjoy it. ^^ I'll likely post it somewhere once I get around to it.

While I was sick this week I started hammering out a bunch of HTML again, writing myself a new web-page from scratch. I've had a web site for years n' years now, but I've not updated it since late 2004. I figured it was about time for a wee bit o' new content. I decided to keep all the old stuff there in a simple archive of sorts, and I'll work on something a little more fancy for the new stuff. Hell, I might even get a proper php gallery going or some such.

As a final note, after all the writing tonight I decided to go upstairs n' have a cup o' tea, plus watch part of a movie with the roomie. I'd forgotten how long The Postman was, and several hours later I find it 3am. ^^() I think I'm going to go to bed now.

G'night folks!

Moar stuff

I've got one hell of a nasty head cold, and it has been managing to kick my ass rather effectively this week. Fortunately I've got some meds in me at present, and its dulling the symptoms. Almost time for another dose! Hooray for drugs! :D

My internet connection is still working today, which is obviously a good sign. I'm going to give it another day or so of observation before I call it "fixed", and tell the ISP to not send out a tech. I wouldn't be surprised if they found out the problem on their end, and just neglected to tell me about it.

On a side note, I've noticed more people adding me to their watch lists here, but not saying anything about it. ^^() I don't check my own user info that often, and I don't get any notices when new people show up. If you don't say anything, I'll likely never know. I've had people sitting there for months before I even knew they had LJ's. So! If you want me to pay attention to you, speak up and say something. :3

That's about it on my end. Still looking for work. :p Everyone come entertain your local gigantic Dragon! And I say local, because my ass stretches from coast to coast. :3

Mon, Jul. 21st, 2008, 11:20 pm
Stuff and things!

Well, my internet connection seems to be behaving itself all of a sudden today. I've been able to go surfing at an acceptable speed, play a few games, yadda. Hopefully it stays that way!

I've still not found a job, and I'm still looking just about everywhere for one. If one doesn't show up soon, I'm going to be forced to start applying for shit retail jobs and maybe even food service. :p I don't want to sink that low.

I tried going out to see the new Batman movie earlier this evening, but the theater was so packed I could barely get in the place. Plus all the shows were sold out already. :p So, scrapped that idea and came back home to game and such.

On another note, a friend of mine seems to be in some trouble. She's living down in Phoenix, and her dad is about to kick her out on the streets. She's got no job, no place to go, and no money worth mention. If anyone is living in the Phoenix area and can give her a hand, let me know ok? Or even if they're outside the area. ^^() The time is nigh!

That's about it on this end. Hopefully my net stays online for more than today. ^^()
